“People tend to play in their comfort zone, so the best things are achieved in a state of surprise, actually.” - Brian Eno
If you’re having trouble deciding which path to take, rather than asking which would make you happier, ask yourself which would be more fun ✨.
We feel imposter syndrome because we are imposters; we were not born to work our way up some corporate ladder; we were born to create, connect, grow, and disconnect (the four fun factors).
Confidence is the foundation for fun. We can only have fun if we feel comfortable being ourselves. It’s really, really hard to be someone you’re not.
Being yourself is a lifelong practice but the only goal that matters. You can’t have fun without first learning how to be yourself. Authenticity and fun are inextricably linked.
Authenticity will always make you happier than status or wealth alone. Plus, it’s a lot easier to just be yourself than to become rich and powerful.
Life is more fun when you let people surprise you.
Be open to whatever the future holds. You cannot plan your way to authentic success, that is the type of success that has nothing to do with the amount of money you have in the bank and everything to do with tapping into your innate interests and talents. You can only stumble into it—by remaining open to chance, to unexpected discoveries, and even to what might seem like a detour or delay.
Set the intention to trust: yourself, others, that everything will be ok. Trust is the most underrated and underdeveloped capacity we have.
Having more fun is as simple as putting some thought into your thoughts.
Fun is a liberated feeling. The opposite of fun isn’t boredom, it’s fear. Bring awareness to what is holding you back from fun.
Hmmmm....though friends! Great idea...now to go about trying to find them. ;)
